American Airlines Credit Union Savings Accounts Rates

The American Airlines Credit Union Savings rates are from a credit union that was founded in 1936. Since that time, they have grown to a membership of over 231,000, and can be found in many airports so they are convenient for their members to use and conduct their financial matters.

There are 4 different savings accounts with AACU. They include the Savings/Share Account, the Eaglets Academy, UTMA Accounts, and the Youth Share Accounts.

Members can have two Savings/Share accounts at the same time. The first one has a minimum deposit of $6.00 while the second one can be opened for just $0.01. They are both earning an APY of 0.50%, and are compounded and accredited monthly with the interest that the account has earned. These are the best Savings account rates offered by the AACU at this time.

Fees associated with this account include a $2.00 withdrawal fee, when you make more than one withdrawal in a 30 day period. There is also a $1.00 membership fee and an inactive membership fee of $2.0 a month when the account has no activity in it for 12 consecutive months. For each savings account withdrawal at an ATM, there is a $2.00 fee.

The Youth Share Accounts is available to family members of CU members who are under the age of 22. There is no information in the interest rates or fees.

The Eaglets Academy is for family members of CU members who are under the age of 12. This account includes stickers activity sheets and prizes they can win. However, no information about interest rates is available at this time.

The UTMA accounts are an alternative to trust funds. When the minor who the trust fund is set up for becomes of legal age, the money is given to them legally as a gift.

At this time, there are no American Airlines Credit Union Money Market rates because they do not have an MMA available.

The American Airlines Savings rates were posted on January 1, 2012 and are still current for the month of March, but are subject to change without notice.
